note from Don Davis.
We lost another classmate last night after a
long brave battle with cancer. I was never in a class or activity with
Anita but everyone knew her smile when you saw her in the halls,
cafeteria, etc. I got to know her thru e-mails after I started working
with the class directory and found she was the woman I would have
thought she would become. She loved her God, her family and her
friends. She will be missed.

Mary Jo Myers:
" Mary Jo Myers, wife of
(Gen.) Dick Myers, was interviewed by Chris Wallace, Sunday, May 8,
Mother's Day, on Fox News as the "Power Player of the Week". It's a great
interview and I hope you can find it.
Mr. Wallace honored Mary
Jo for her service to the families of our service men/women. After giving
her Frequent Flyer miles to the mother of an injured soldier, Mary Jo
started what is now called the "Hero Miles" program. Over 100 million
miles have been donated since then and 3000 tickets given to the families
of military personnel.
During the interview, Mary
Jo spoke about the families of the soldiers who serve as also serving our
country. Her sincere compassion and admiration for these families was
clearly apparent and heart-warming.

Remember Bev:
A year ago today, July 9, 2003, our beloved classmate, Beverly (Warren) Goble lost her courageous battle against cancer, and was called to her heavenly home.
We miss Bev's radiant smile, insightful suggestions, and charming wit.
If you attended Bev's funeral service, you will remember releasing a colorful balloon in her memory. As those balloons soared skyward, some of the sadness was lifted from our hearts, just as Bev had planned.
Bev is missed by her friends, and so terribly missed by her loving family.
Take a moment today to reflect on those balloons, and lift up prayers for your treasured families.

The Change:
During the past couple of weeks I've transferred this web site to another
host, iPowerWeb. Most of, if not all, should be transparent to
you.
I've made the change for several reasons:
First is the financial reason. It is costing us $3.00 per month less
and we received an additional year of domain name registration, a $15.00
value. As our Class coffers are limited, this will be saving us $36
a year.
Second, for less money, we are now getting more services. We've had
50 megabits of storage space with 5 email accounts. We now have 800
megabits of storage space and 400 email accounts.
Third, iPowerWeb has a better interface for me to handle the
administration of the web site.
Additional web site info:
Unfortunately I must report that in my transferring the web site, I've
lost the bulletin board messages. I hope you will forgive
me.
I've also made a decision to eliminate visible email addresses on the web
site. I'm no longer asking for or using your email addresses in the
bulletin board or the guest log. I've become aware that robot
computer programs can search web sites and harvest email addresses which
are then used for spam mailing lists.
Email address:

It's www.oldkc.com . This site is packed
with old photos in and around KC. It's worth the time.
Webmaster's promo:
I invite you to visit two of my other web sites. The first is www.hotspringsvillageview.com . This
is a public service type site for the community, Hot Springs Village, AR, that I live in.
I've been working with our animal shelter so you will almost always see animals
that need new homes. (Yes, I'm doing the photography.)
The second web site is www.newlons.com . This
one is a bit more off the wall. Here in my Arkansas Ramblings you'll find out what I
find amusing these days. Oh yes, lately the Guest Book on this site hasn't been
working. It's OK now, so feel free to leave your name and let me know that you've
visited my web site. Thanks, Larry Newlon

I'm once again a Mid-Westerner, I think. I've recently left California after 29
years and moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. A lot closer to SM North.
I've just made a couple of updates to the Memory Book, my new
address and a found lost classmate, Susan Aitken Johnson. To make your life a little
easier in downloading, I've created a new page with only the new updates. Click on
"Classmates/Memory Book" on the home page. In this way, you don't have to
download the complete Memory Book which is a very big Word file.
Also, Don Davis has passed on a new link about the history of
Shawnee Mission North. The web URL is: www.smn-rab.org/SMN-HIST/btn00.htm
The link can also be found on the "Memories" page.
